ESIP offers, in partnership with ESIEA, a French engineering Grande École founded in 1958 and a member of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles, a Digital Engineering programme structured over five years. This 2+3 pathway gives Indian students direct access to a leading French engineering education from the Pondicherry campus, without having to leave India for the first two years of their studies.
The first two years are delivered on the Pondicherry campus in full alignment with ESIEA's academic requirements, covering scientific and technical foundations — computer science, electronics, systems, mathematics and physics — alongside managerial competencies and soft skills.
From the first year, each student chooses a thematic track: Data and Artificial Intelligence, or Digital Systems and Security. Impact-driven RSE projects are carried out each year in teams. Upon validation of the 120 ECTS credits earned over the two Pondicherry years, students join an ESIEA campus in France — Paris or Laval — for the three years of the Engineering Cycle.
Pedagogy is 70% practice-based: team projects, technical challenges, access to Hcéres-accredited research laboratories, and mandatory internships at every stage of the programme. Teaching is delivered by 40% permanent academic researchers and 60% active industry professionals. Work-study formats are available from the third year onward.
The degree — ESIEA Engineering Degree, accredited by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur (CTI), EUR-ACE labelled, and SecNumEdu-certified by ANSSI — is awarded by ESIEA. It confers Master's level standing and opens access to senior engineering positions across all sectors of the digital economy. 100% of ESIEA graduates find employment within two months of graduating.
Programme Structure — 5 years
Year 1 · Pondicherry — Scientific and technical foundations, thematic track choice, RSE project, internship.
Year 2 · Pondicherry — Deepening of foundations, scientific and technical project, RSE project, preparation for integration in France.
Year 3 · ESIEA France — Engineering Cycle, mandatory international semester, digital core curriculum.
Year 4 · ESIEA France — Major specialisation track: Cybersecurity · AI & Data Science · Virtual Reality & Immersive Systems · Embedded & Autonomous Systems · Software Engineering. Mandatory internship 4 to 5 months.
Year 5 · ESIEA France — Major deepening, complementary Minor, double degree options, 6-month final internship. Conferral of the ESIEA Engineering Degree — Master's level.
ESIP provides on-site coordination, local academic support and student accompaniment throughout the first two years of the programme.
The degree is awarded by ESIEA upon completion of the full five-year curriculum.
