Béatrice Couairon is a Senior Chair Professor in Economics and holds the French agrégation in Economic and Social Sciences. A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure and decorated with the Ordre des Palmes Académiques, she teaches microeconomics and macroeconomics at ESIP — two foundational disciplines at the core of any serious programme in management, finance and international business.
Her background bridges the highest levels of French academic training with direct professional experience in the business world. Early in her career, she worked as a commercial executive at Danone, managing a client portfolio of nearly ten million euros in the mass retail sector. That experience — grounded in market dynamics, negotiation and commercial relationships — continues to inform her teaching today.
Alongside her classes in preparatory grandes écoles at Lycée Montaigne in Paris, she teaches at Albert School – Mines Paris PSL, a school combining business, artificial intelligence and data, where she designs courses integrating microeconomics, macroeconomics and an applied understanding of contemporary transformations, including digital and climate-related shifts.
Co-founder, with Philippe Aghion — 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics — of the Campus de l'Innovation at the Collège de France, she also served for over a decade as director of the national Melchior programme at the Institut de l'Entreprise, one of France's leading initiatives for economic literacy, built around a platform of 4,500 teaching resources and annual events bringing together over 800 participants.
