Alexandra Horquin is a pedagogical content designer, author and trainer, specialising in French as a Foreign Language and language didactics. She holds a Master's degree in FLE, Language Didactics and Interculturality (Université Paris V Descartes) and a Master's degree in Economics and Psychology.
Her teaching career was built at leading institutions — Sorbonne Université, Alliance Française, Institut Catholique (ILCF), ISCOM Paris — where she developed and delivered general and specialist courses for multicultural audiences. This hands-on experience gave her a concrete understanding of classroom realities and a precise reading of learner needs.
Since 2017, she has collaborated with major international publishers — EMDL, Didier, Ellipses — designing CEFR-aligned learning pathways, writing DELF-style assessments and authoring the full content of En scène FLE : Cahier de révisions. She also leads trainer development modules internationally — Paris, Barcelona, Beirut, Amsterdam — on topics including oral production and digital tool integration. Since 2025, she has been collaborating with Ekinox / Digital Lab on the design of a French revision application integrating artificial intelligence algorithms adapted to learners' actual needs.
Her experience with Indian learners — through both FLE courses and theatre and improvisation workshops — has given her a precise understanding of their specific pedagogical and cultural profile: the influence of English on French language acquisition mechanisms, the need for structured frameworks and explicit instructions, and the oral reticence linked to fear of error. A theatre and improvisation performer herself, she integrates the performing arts and situational learning naturally into her pedagogical practice, with measurable impact on learner confidence and communicative competence.
As Head of the ESIP Language Studio, Alexandra Horquin designs and leads the language mastery pathways that prepare every student to succeed on a French campus and perform in international professional environments. Her approach places the learner at the centre — tailored pathways, intercultural grounding, digital tool integration — in service of a professional-level command of French, English, Hindi and Tamil that meets the demands of the international world.
